Good service is important

In the morning, I brought the ppl out for a course. We hired a bus to bring them there. The bus uncle is super unfriendly. You smile at him, he shows u a stoned face. So a couple of ppl were late. After about ten minutes, he asked whether we can go. "Can we wait for 5 more minutes?" I requested. "No! I'm already running late!" He retorted. Fine. We boarded the bus, when we reach and alighted, I thank him for the trip and apologised for the delay earlier. No reaction from him. What an idiot.

After the course, we called for the uncle to fetch us. The uncle "chut pattern" again. There's two doors for boarding, but he only open the back door. When some guys stood at the front door waiting for him to open it, he just stared right back. Cock man! He finally open when I signaled him to do so. When we were back, again we thanked him for the return trip, but still no reaction from him. I really hate to say this, but you are a F****** A******. If you dun like this job, dun do it. Don't show your passengers a F*** face.

Some time after the above incident. I was waiting for a bus at the bus stop to go to my apartment. The bus took a real long time to come, and I was feeling quite irritated. Eventually it came, and I board the bus rather pissed. What come next was a surprise, the bus driver smiled, and greeted me "good afternoon." Just a simple gesture and two words, I felt so much better. The grouchy uncle should really learn from this driver. That's what good service is about.

Next me and mf went to a hardware shop to get the aluminium track for our curtains. The auntie was very friendly, though she was quite busy as well. When her grandson (I suspect he's her grandson) tried to help her, she nagged at him on what he need to do until the grandson gave up. This auntie reminds me of my own auntie actually, who always nag at my sis when doing the house chores. I can't really describe it well, but it was really funny, especially since I'm not the one being nagged at. I think old people actually they meant well when they nag, but well... Anyway, the hardware shop auntie advised us on what we need for the curtain and help us packed everything. She also gave us a discount from the final price. So nice!

PS: I was so happy we settled the curtains part for a low cost. We don't even need to worry about the installation part as the contractor agreed to do it for us.

Why are there more left handers?

The reason why there is more left handers now is because they are not being discriminated or orstracised anymore. In the olden days, especially in Asia, lefthanders are thought to be abnormal. People borned lefthanded were forced (usually by parents) to learn to use their right hand predominately. As time passes they became righthanders. Nowadays, nobody care anymore, whether you are a left or right hander. Hence there seems to be "more" lefthanders now.

This is her?

This is me

A Rat!

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Yesterday, while I was burning the joss paper as usual, I saw a rat! Now, I know that there are sometimes rats at the ground floor, occasionally out for a breather from the drains, but I certainly wasn't expecting them on the fifth floor. Did they take the lift?

Anyway, that rat scared the hell out of me. I think I probably scared the hell out of it too. Dad tried to catch it, but it ran into our neighbour's pots of plants and we lost it. I suspect that as of now the rat is still hiding there, which is quite scary as it means that our path may cross again. For now I just have to be alert so as not to be surprise again. lol.

Valhalla Knights 2 Walkthrough

I'm currently playing this game on PSP, and I realise that there is no walkthrough for this game available online. The purpose of this post, is to share my experience of playing the game, so that if any of you folks out there are playing this game and are stuck somewhere, hopefully you can find the solution here.

I'm not going to write a detailed walkthrough though, so dun expect every little details here. You can always leave a comment behind so we can discuss it though. Anyway here goes...

When you start a new game, you are required to create your character. You can choose from various races, but if you are new to Valhalla knights like me, I suggest you choose human, which is the most balanced race. After a few customisation, the story will begins.
The first battle, i believe, is one which you can't lose. In fact, it's over in like 5 secs? Ya, so just move with the story after that. After a few cut scenes, you are required to move to a few areas in the town ( dun worry it's a very small area), and you are on your way to the very first quest of the game. By the way, I chose the job fighter, you can choose any other job i guess, and tell me of your experience.
Yes the game is all about quests and exploring dungeons (at least that's what I think for now). You go into the "Slums" once out of town. The monsters here are quite weak, so you can still fight them individually. There will be a treasure box in the first area giving you 1000 gold.
So here's an important point. Once you have the 1000 gold, head back to the town and save.
It's important because if you are defeated out of town, you will be sent back to the inn, but the innkeeper will take half of whatever you have. So if you have 1000 gold, he will take 500, which at this point is a lot! Now, the next important thing is to get an ally (meaning party member).
Being new to this game myself, I din realise I need to do that, so I spent a lot of time slugging out with the monsters in the slums alone. But with the 1000 gold you have right now, you can go to the guild, talk to the fat woman, choose ally, find new ally, and create an elf, giving him/her the job priest (if you are not one yourself). You need to talk to the fat woman again to add the ally to your party.
A priest can use healing magic which can heal the party members. His MP will also recover automatically as you walk, so you dun have to waste much money on recovery items. At this point, I can't remember whether the magic "Aid" come as a default spell. If not, you can go armoury and buy an AID BOOK, use it on the priest. Alternatively, when you fought the monsters, they sometimes drop books as well. One thing about the items that the monsters dropped, they need to be analysed. So you need to analyse it with the "Analyse card" before it can be used. Monsters also do not drop gold, you need to sell the items to get gold.
If you can remember the thing about the innkeeper, it will be good not to bring too much gold into the dungeon. Spend it on items or equipments. If you go into dungeon with 0 gold, when you are defeated, you will still be sent back to the inn, with the innkeeper taking half of what you have (which is 0 gold). You will still be healed fully. So getting defeated is actually one quick way to return to town, just make sure the innkeeper dun take too much from you.

If you have an unconsious member in your party, but you walked back the town yourself, you need to bring him to the church to revive him. Sleeping in the inn will not help. So what I do is I'll usually let the whole party get defeated so I find myself back in the inn fully recovered.
Back to the first quest, I would suggest you get one more ally to make things easier for you. Of course you need more gold for this, so go fight some monster, sell the items and get the gold. My third party member is of the race which is strong in combat (can't remember the race, it's the big size one). I chose the job "monk" for her, so now in my party there is a fighter, a monk and a priest. In a battle the fighter and monk will fight while the priest will support with healing magic at the back. Works quite well for me.
To complete the first quest, you need to walk past the Slums (made up of 4 areas). To unlocked the locked doors in the Slums, look for Stone tablets and move them. Then walk in the general downwards direction, you will enter a D-something forest. I'll post a map when I update this next time. But at least for the slums, just walk towards the south.
Many doors in the forest is locked too, you need to unlock them by entering small rooms and clicking the wooden statues. If you have 3 members in your party you should be ok. If you wandered off into a snowy area, turn back. You do not need to go there yet, unless you want to explore further. The place you need to find is in the forest - a room where there is a big blue crystal. You will know its the correct room because when you try to open the door, some mushrooms will run towards you. Finish them off, some cutscenes will follow, the first quest is basically done.
I'll update the rest when I'm free. Going to swim in real life now. Woohoo
UPDATE: I'm so busy with RL, plus my PSP is spoilt, so i haven been able to play the game for months. BUT I FOUND THIS LINK! Kudos to gamespot, I think basically everything can be found there, also thanks to the nice forummers.

Saw this line when watching a chinese show a few days ago, might not the exact words but I think the idea is there. It's part of a song in the show. I think its pretty cool. :)

It roughly means "A long cry to ease the mind/chest", but I think its sounds much nicer in chinese.

Can't think of a title

Cats are cute, they catch mice, they even pose for pictures. So please dun abuse them anymore.

See? Isn't he cool?

Speaking of being cool, it is now so important, given that the swine flu has hit asian countries like Korea and Hong Kong. I've already had my temperature taken twice today, one at the workplace, one at the club. The country seems better prepared compared to the SARS period, so while I hope this H1N1 virus does not reach our shore, I'm quite confident that we will make it through. Stay happy, keep fit, be strong!

Anyway, I have been eating vitamins since 2 weeks ago, after recovering from a severe fever bout that rendered me half-dead(and it's not even the swine flu). Ran out of vitamins last sunday, so went to the pharmacy to get some new ones. I was going to get the Cebion one (which taste real good) until this auntie came and "promote" her products. So much for having natural flavours and colour, I bought 2 bottles for more than twenty-five bucks, and yes, it taste like shit. Sigh... The bottle look like this.

Initial taste is still ok, but when u chewed it and reach the core, the taste is just, well, powdery and medicine-like. And I have 2 bottles to finish. Double sigh..

The real reason why it is so hot in Singapore

Contrary to what some people would like to believe, the real reason why Singapore is so hot in recent weeks is not because of global warming or changing climates.

The true culprits are actually the air cons in shopping malls, buses and homes. An air con works by absorbing the heat from one space (eg a room), and pumps it outside the room. Judging from the temperature inside the many shopping malls and public buses, one can safely say that a large quantity of heat is transferred from these places into the rest of the island. As more household are installed with air con nowadays, more heat is transferred from these home to the outside, which explain why one feels so hot when he stepped out.

And that, is the real reason for the increasing temperature in Singapore. Dun jus attribute everything to global warming.

Making the Okonomiyaki

Made the okonomiyaki for the first time with Feifei.

These are some of the ingredients:

Fish shavings and sea weed

Onions
Cabbage

Eggs
Most Importantly, okonomiyaki sauce, flour and japanese mayonnaise.

Dice the cabbage

Then the onions
Add water into the flour. The ratio we used is about 1:1. Break an egg, and mix the whole thing..
Add in the cabbage and onions. Mix again!

Put the mixture into the heated pan.
Add some bacon...
After a while, check that the underside is golden brown, FLIP it.
Press the okonomiyaki to make sure it gets cooked in the inside.

Once its cooked, transfer it to a plate.
Pour the mayo and the okonomiyaki sauce, add the fish shavings and seaweed, and TA DA!!! Yum Yum!!!

词: Me

Random Updates

1) My phone failed me today. Couldn't access the sms screen. 吓死我了~~ Did a hard reset (which resets the phone to the default factory setting) and the screen finally re-appeared. 3 hours later i realised nobody can receive my sms-es even though I sent it out. And the sms alert is not working. Did a second hard reset. Eventually I decided that one of the freeware that I install on my phone is the root of the problem. Hence I sent one sms to someone for every freeware that I install.

These are the softwares that are safe a) the Modaco Nodata that prevent the using of GPRS, b) the sensorlock that disable the touchscreen and c) the Light Sabre application (thanks goodness).

The following are not tested, so one of them could be the culprit. a) ClearTemp that deletes the temporary files, b) Bemario, a silly game that requires player to jump like the Super Mario, and the c) the most suspicious of all, Touchflo Config Setup that allows users to change the Touchflo 3D's configuration.

It could also be the Chinese software that had just passed its trial period. Anyway, I'm jus keeping my finger crossed for now.

2) My mouth has 6 ulcer in total! There's 4 on the lower lip, 1 on the upper lip and 1 on the left side of the tongue. This must be the effect of eating 3 slices of BBQ pork (Ba Kwa) in a row the day before. The pain was so intense that eventually I succumbed to buying the ulcer cream, that so clearly states that it is POISON, from the Guardian Pharmacy. Sigh..

3) My hair needs to be cut.. People often said I look tired nowadays, even when I'm not. Must be the hair... But the salon is not open today.. maybe tomorrow..

BLACK CAT

Saw a black cat at the staircase when I left for work early in the morning. Took a few pics of it.

The pictures doesn't do it justice as it is real cute. But it wouldn't stop moving, couple with the poor lighting and the average handphone camera, that's the best I can do. I'm quite sure it has nothing to do with my photography skills though.
