A Rat!
Yesterday, while I was burning the joss paper as usual, I saw a rat! Now, I know that there are sometimes rats at the ground floor, occasionally out for a breather from the drains, but I certainly wasn't expecting them on the fifth floor. Did they take the lift?
Anyway, that rat scared the hell out of me. I think I probably scared the hell out of it too. Dad tried to catch it, but it ran into our neighbour's pots of plants and we lost it. I suspect that as of now the rat is still hiding there, which is quite scary as it means that our path may cross again. For now I just have to be alert so as not to be surprise again. lol.

Valhalla Knights 2 Walkthrough

I'm currently playing this game on PSP, and I realise that there is no walkthrough for this game available online. The purpose of this post, is to share my experience of playing the game, so that if any of you folks out there are playing this game and are stuck somewhere, hopefully you can find the solution here.
I'm not going to write a detailed walkthrough though, so dun expect every little details here. You can always leave a comment behind so we can discuss it though. Anyway here goes...
When you start a new game, you are required to create your character. You can choose from various races, but if you are new to Valhalla knights like me, I suggest you choose human, which is the most balanced race. After a few customisation, the story will begins.
The first battle, i believe, is one which you can't lose. In fact, it's over in like 5 secs? Ya, so just move with the story after that. After a few cut scenes, you are required to move to a few areas in the town ( dun worry it's a very small area), and you are on your way to the very first quest of the game. By the way, I chose the job fighter, you can choose any other job i guess, and tell me of your experience.
Yes the game is all about quests and exploring dungeons (at least that's what I think for now). You go into the "Slums" once out of town. The monsters here are quite weak, so you can still fight them individually. There will be a treasure box in the first area giving you 1000 gold.
So here's an important point. Once you have the 1000 gold, head back to the town and save.
It's important because if you are defeated out of town, you will be sent back to the inn, but the innkeeper will take half of whatever you have. So if you have 1000 gold, he will take 500, which at this point is a lot! Now, the next important thing is to get an ally (meaning party member).
Being new to this game myself, I din realise I need to do that, so I spent a lot of time slugging out with the monsters in the slums alone. But with the 1000 gold you have right now, you can go to the guild, talk to the fat woman, choose ally, find new ally, and create an elf, giving him/her the job priest (if you are not one yourself). You need to talk to the fat woman again to add the ally to your party.
A priest can use healing magic which can heal the party members. His MP will also recover automatically as you walk, so you dun have to waste much money on recovery items. At this point, I can't remember whether the magic "Aid" come as a default spell. If not, you can go armoury and buy an AID BOOK, use it on the priest. Alternatively, when you fought the monsters, they sometimes drop books as well. One thing about the items that the monsters dropped, they need to be analysed. So you need to analyse it with the "Analyse card" before it can be used. Monsters also do not drop gold, you need to sell the items to get gold.
If you can remember the thing about the innkeeper, it will be good not to bring too much gold into the dungeon. Spend it on items or equipments. If you go into dungeon with 0 gold, when you are defeated, you will still be sent back to the inn, with the innkeeper taking half of what you have (which is 0 gold). You will still be healed fully. So getting defeated is actually one quick way to return to town, just make sure the innkeeper dun take too much from you.
If you have an unconsious member in your party, but you walked back the town yourself, you need to bring him to the church to revive him. Sleeping in the inn will not help. So what I do is I'll usually let the whole party get defeated so I find myself back in the inn fully recovered.
Back to the first quest, I would suggest you get one more ally to make things easier for you. Of course you need more gold for this, so go fight some monster, sell the items and get the gold. My third party member is of the race which is strong in combat (can't remember the race, it's the big size one). I chose the job "monk" for her, so now in my party there is a fighter, a monk and a priest. In a battle the fighter and monk will fight while the priest will support with healing magic at the back. Works quite well for me.
To complete the first quest, you need to walk past the Slums (made up of 4 areas). To unlocked the locked doors in the Slums, look for Stone tablets and move them. Then walk in the general downwards direction, you will enter a D-something forest. I'll post a map when I update this next time. But at least for the slums, just walk towards the south.
Many doors in the forest is locked too, you need to unlock them by entering small rooms and clicking the wooden statues. If you have 3 members in your party you should be ok. If you wandered off into a snowy area, turn back. You do not need to go there yet, unless you want to explore further. The place you need to find is in the forest - a room where there is a big blue crystal. You will know its the correct room because when you try to open the door, some mushrooms will run towards you. Finish them off, some cutscenes will follow, the first quest is basically done.
I'll update the rest when I'm free. Going to swim in real life now. Woohoo
UPDATE: I'm so busy with RL, plus my PSP is spoilt, so i haven been able to play the game for months. BUT I FOUND THIS LINK! Kudos to gamespot, I think basically everything can be found there, also thanks to the nice forummers.
